Visit to Fukushima Prefecture

On December 2, 2025, Prime Minister Takaichi visited Fukushima Prefecture.
In Okuma Town, the Prime Minister observed the Interim Storage Facility, including the soil storage facility and the demonstration site for road embankment, followed by a visit to the Interim Storage Information Center.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister visited the Difficult-to-Return Zones in Futaba Town, as well as the abandoned farmland within the designated areas.
The Prime Minister then visited the Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO)’s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station in Okuma Town. After receiving an overview briefing, the Prime Minister observed the exterior of the reactor buildings of Units 1–4, followed by the reactor buildings of Units 5 and 6 and the facilities for the discharge of ALPS (Advanced Liquid Processing System)-treated water into the ocean.
After the site visits, the Prime Minister held an exchange of views, offered words of encouragement to the staff, met with the Governor of Fukushima Prefecture, and spoke to the press regarding her visit to Fukushima Prefecture.
