Prime Minister ISHIBA attends the forum on the Economic Region of Indian Ocean-Africa

1.    On August 20, Prime Minister ISHIBA attended and delivered remarks at the forum on the Economic Region of Indian Ocean-Africa with a subtitle of “Towards African Prosperity through Japan-Indian Ocean Collaboration”, hosted by the Nikkei Inc. (co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) on the occasion of TICAD9.
 
2.    Prime Minister ISHIBA proposed the "Economic Region Initiative of Indian Ocean-Africa" to accelerate the growth of Africa and the Indian Ocean region by incorporating Africa's vitality and dynamism and working together with both public and private sectors.
 
3.    Prime Minister ISHIBA also stated that Japan will steadily work towards the realization of this initiative together with African countries and the Indian Ocean region.
