Japan-Eswatini Summit Meeting (Summary)
On June 5, commencing at 11:20a.m., for approximately 20 minutes, Mr. ISHIBA Shigeru, Prime Minister of Japan, held a summit meeting with His Excellency Russell Mmiso DLAMINI, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Eswatini, who is visiting Japan to participate in the National Day Event of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan.
At the outset, Prime Minister Ishiba mentioned the success of Eswatini-related events at the Osaka-Kansai Expo and expressed his desire to further develop bilateral cooperation with Eswatini. Prime Minister Ishiba also requested Eswatini's cooperation toward the success of TICAD 9 to be held in August this year.
In response, Prime Minister Dlamini touched upon the good bilateral relations between the two countries and expressed his appreciation for Japan's economic cooperation, such as the food security sector. Prime Minister Dlamini also expressed his hope for cooperation in the field of disaster risk reduction with Japan, which has overcome natural disasters.
The two leaders confirmed that they would work closely together in the international arena, such as UN Security Council reform.
