(Reference) Japanese Memorial Garden
The Japanese Memorial Garden is a monument erected by the Japanese Government in the Philippines to commemorate the war dead. In 1973, the Philippine Government granted permission to use land in Caliraya free use of charge, and the Japanese Government erected the Japanese Memorial Garden. In 2016, then Their Majesty the Emperor and Empress (now Their Majesty the Emperor Emeritus and Empress Emerita) offered flowers. The Embassy of Japan in the Philippines holds a memorial service at the Japanese Memorial Garden every August 15 to mourn the war dead of Japanese and the Philippines and to pray for peace and friendship between the two countries.
