On March 29, 2025, Prime Minister Ishiba visited Iwo-To.

The Prime Minister attended the Japan-U.S. Iwo-To Reunion of Honor Ceremony, where he delivered a memorial address, offered flowers and water to the souls of the war dead, and observed a moment of silence.
