Visit to Iwo-To

On March 29, 2025, Prime Minister Ishiba visited Iwo-To.

The Prime Minister attended the Japan-U.S. Iwo-To Reunion of Honor Ceremony, where he delivered a memorial address, offered flowers and water to the souls of the war dead, and observed a moment of silence. He then attended the Memorial Ceremony for the Japanese War Dead on the Battle of Iwo-To, where, after observing a moment of silence, he delivered a memorial address and offered flowers and water to the souls of the war dead.

Furthermore, the Prime Minister visited sites where the remains of the war dead are collected, paid respects at the Imperial Navy Command Bunker and the Imperial Army Command Bunker, and visited mass burial sites for the war dead as well as Mount Suribachi. Lastly, after speaking to the press about the day's visit, he addressed Self-Defense Forces personnel to invigorate and inspirit them.
