On March 13, 2025, Prime Minister Ishiba attended the awards ceremony for the “Digi-den Koshien” (National Championship for Achieving a Digital Garden City Nation) at the Prime Minister’s Office.
The Prime Minister said in his address:
“This is Prime Minister. I would like to offer my heartfelt congratulations to the award winners of the 4th Digi-den Koshien. I also extend my gratitude to the judges for your rigorous, impartial, and fair evaluations. I am truly grateful to all the winners and judges for your attendance at the ceremony, in spite of your busy schedules at the end of the fiscal year.
All of your initiatives address pressing issues currently facing Japan such as healthcare, disaster prevention, infrastructure management, and agriculture, and are outstanding in that they offer specific solutions to highly important social challenges for the daily lives of the people with the power of digital technologies.
I sincerely hope that you will further enhance and develop each of your initiatives as problem-solving models.
We intend to make the maximum use of rapidly evolving emerging technologies in Regional Revitalization 2.0, which the Government is tackling as one of its highest-priority initiatives. We will seek to put further efforts into the popularization of good examples, including the initiatives recognized with awards today.
Let me conclude my opening remarks by asking for your continued support and wishing each and every one of you further success. Congratulations.”
