On November 19, 2024 (local time), during his visit to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to attend the G20 Rio de Janeiro Summit and related events, Prime Minister Ishiba met with members of the Nikkei (Japanese immigrants and descendants) community and Japanese residents in the area. He then participated in a Japan-Italy-UK Leaders' Meeting with Rt Hon Keir Starmer MP, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and H.E. Ms. Giorgia Meloni, President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic to discuss the Global Combat Air Program (GCAP). Following this, he attended Session 3 of the G20 Summit, titled "Sustainable Development and Energy Transition". Later, Prime Minister Ishiba held talks with H.E. Mr. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of the Federative Republic of Brazil and concluded the day with a press conference addressing his participation in the APEC Summit and G20 Summit.
