Video Message from Prime Minister Kishida regarding the World Skills International 2024

September 17, 2024

[Provisional translation]

Distinguished WorldSkills Members and Partners, greetings from Japan.
I am Fumio KISHIDA, Prime Minister of Japan.
The outstanding skills of skilled workers have enriched our world, whether in the area of automobiles, housing, and telecommunications.
Today, we face many challenges such as the promotion of digitalization and the accomplishment of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in order to achieve sustainable growth of global economy and industry.
Nevertheless, I am convinced that, the excellent skills of people will play a driving role to overcome such issues.
This is why I have taken the leadership in promoting the bid for the WorldSkills Competition in Japan.
Recently, I had an opportunity to talk with some WorldSkills Champions. I was deeply impressed by the young people who are boldly opening up the future through their skills.
The Government of Japan and Aichi Prefecture are ready to fully support the WorldSkills Competition here in Japan.
See you in Aichi in 2028!
