Message of condolence from Prime Minister Kishida following the damage caused by the typhoon in Vietnam

On September 10, regarding the damage caused by the typhoon that hit the northern area of Vietnam on September 7 (local time), Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan sent the following message of condolence to H.E. Mr. PHAM Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
“I am deeply saddened and grieved to learn that many precious lives were lost, and many people were affected by the damage caused by the heavy rain and strong winds from the typhoon that recently struck Vietnam.
On behalf of the Government and people of Japan, I would like to express my heartfelt condolences to those who lost their lives and their bereaved families, and my sympathies are with those who have been affected.
As a friend of your country, I sincerely pray for the prompt reconstruction of the affected areas. The Government of Japan stands with your country and is ready to provide necessary assistance to the maximum extent possible.”
