Congratulatory Message from Prime Minister KISHIDA to Prime Minister Montenegro of Portugal

On April 2, Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, sent a congratulatory letter to H.E. Mr. Luís Filipe MONTENEGRO Cardoso de Morais Esteves, Prime Minister of the Portuguese Republic, who assumed the office of Prime Minister upon the formation of a new government in Portugal.
In the letter, Prime Minister Kishida expressed his intention to further develop the Japan-Portugal relationship in cooperation with Prime Minister Montenegro, acknowledging that both countries are maritime nations and important partners sharing fundamental values and principles. Prime Minister Kishida also stated that he hoped to work closely with Purtugal toward realizing a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific”.
