Congratulatory Message from Prime Minister Kishida to Irish Prime Minister Varadkar

On December 19, Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, sent a congratulatory letter to H.E. Mr. Leo Varadkar, T.D., Taoiseach (Prime Minister of Ireland), for his appointment.
 
1.In the letter, touching upon the Joint Statement between Japan and Ireland issued this July, Prime Minister Kishida expressed his intention to further develop the bilateral relationship.
 
2.Moreover, Prime Minister Kishida mentioned that Japan would lead the international community as the G7 presidency and a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council next year, and that he would like to further strengthen collaboration with Ireland, which shares the fundamental values with Japan.
