Prime Minister Kishida’s Visit to Arlington National Cemetery (Summary)

On April 9th, commencing at 10:00 a.m. (local time, 11:00 p.m. on April 9th, Japan time) for approximately 30 minutes, Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, during his official visit to Washington D.C., visited Arlington National Cemetery.

Prime Minister Kishida was welcomed and guided by Major General Trevor Bredenkamp, Commanding General, U.S. Army Military District of Washington, Ms. Karen Durham-Aguilera, Executive Officer, Office of Army Cemeteries and Army National Military Cemeteries, and Mr. Ethan Rosenzweig, Acting Chief of Protocol, Department of State. Prime Minister Kishida laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with members of each Armed Forces forming lines and the Japanese and U.S. national anthems being performed.
