Visit to the Philippines by Mrs. KISHIDA Yuko, the Spouse of the Prime Minister: First Day

On November 3, 2023 (local time), Mrs. KISHIDA Yuko, Spouse of the Prime Minister, who is visiting the Republic of the Philippines with Prime Minister Kishida, paid a flower tribute at Rizal Park together with the Prime Minister. Mrs. Kishida then visited the National Museum of Anthropology, guided by the First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos.

1. Floral Offering at Rizal Park  

Mrs. Kishida, the Spouse of the Prime Minister, offered flowers at Rizal Park.
 
The park houses the statue of Jose Rizal, a national hero who led the Philippine independence movement. During the event, Mrs. Kishida displayed her deep respect for the Philippine nation and its people by offering flowers. The national anthems of both countries were also played at the park.

2. Visit to the National Museum of Anthropology / Meeting with First Lady Louise Araneta Marcos (Government of the Philippines event)  

Mrs. Kishida was reunited with First Lady Louise Araneta-Marcos for the first time in two months. First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos guided her during their visit at the National Museum of Anthropology. At the museum, they viewed contemporary artworks made of recycled plastic and metal, as well as artworks representing the pre-colonial history of the Philippines. While Japanese songs were being performed, Mrs. KISHIDA and Mrs. Marcos exchanged views about art and culture of the Philippines and Japan, as well as issues in modern society such as waste recycling.
