On July 12, commencing shortly after 4:00 p.m. (local time; 10:00 p.m. JST) for approximately 10 minutes, Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, who was visiting Lithuania to attend the NATO Summit, held an informal talk for the first time with H.E. Ms. Ingrida Šimonytė, Prime Minister of the Republic of Lithuania, H.E. PhD. Arturs Krišjanis Karinš, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia and H.E. Ms. Kaja Kallas, Prime Minister of the Republic of Estonia.
Prime Minister Kishida and the three Prime Ministers expressed their intention to strengthen ties between Japan and NATO, as well as between Japan and the Baltic countries, and concurred that, although they could not take time to hold a meeting this time as the NATO summit meeting was prolonged, they would explore other opportunities for meetings.
