The Talk between Prime Minister Kishida and H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt (Summary)
On April 30, commencing at 7 p.m. (1 a.m. May 1 Japan time) for approximately 10 minutes, Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, who was on a visit to Egypt, had a brief talk with H.E. Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt, ahead of the Japan-Egypt Business Forum. The summary of the talk is as follows.
1. At the outset, Prime Minister Kishida stated that he was deeply impressed by the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), guided by Prime Minister Madbouly, and that at the summit meeting with President El-Sisi, they concurred on elevating the Japan-Egypt relations to a "Strategic Partnership."
2. The two sides confirmed that they will further strengthen economic ties between the two countries, while further deepening exchanges between Japanese and Egyptian government officials and business people and capitalizing on Egypt's economic potential in terms of development of transportation infrastructure, development of the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), and green growth.
