Luncheon Meeting with Japan-Australia Business Leaders

On October 22, commencing at 1 p.m. (local time; 2 p.m. on October 22 JST) for approximately 90 minutes, Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan, who is visiting Perth, Australia, participated in a luncheon meeting with Japan-Australia business leaders co-hosted by the Hon. Anthony Albanese, MP, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia and Hon. Mark McGowan, MLA Premier of Western Australia.

1. In the opening speech, Prime Minister Kishida emphasized the need for a simultaneous progress of a stable supply of resources and energy and the Green Transformation (GX). Prime Minister Kishida also stated that he would further strengthen Japan-Australia cooperation in the areas of hydrogen, ammonia, and critical minerals. 

2. During the luncheon, the participants exchanged opinions on current situations and prospects of various fields of business in Australia, and on future plans to strengthen economic ties between Japan and Australia, including Western Australia.
