Visit to Ishikawa Prefecture to Confirm the Extent of the Damage Caused by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake

On January 14, 2024, Prime Minister Kishida visited Ishikawa Prefecture to confirm the extent of the damage caused by the 2024 Noto Peninsula Earthquake.
 
Prime Minister Kishida gave encouragement to units at the Wajima Sub Base in Wajima City, Ishikawa Prefecture, and visited an evacuation center in the city. The Prime Minister then observed the affected area from an SDF helicopter, before visiting an evacuation center in Suzu City. The Prime Minister next received a written request from Mr. HASE Hiroshi, Governor of Ishikawa Prefecture, at the Ishikawa Prefectural Government Office where they held an exchange of views. At the end of the visit, the Prime Minister spoke to the press regarding his visit.
