On February 14, 2023, Prime Minister Kishida received a courtesy call from representatives of youth participating in the "Ship for World Youth Leaders Program" at the Prime Minister’s Office.

Prime Minister Kishida said in his address,

“I would like to offer my heartfelt welcome to all of you who are visiting Japan to attend the Ship for World Youth Leaders Program. I am KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan.

This program is designed to foster next-generation global leaders and has thus far produced a number of young people active in the world arena.

I believe that the time you have spent together with friends you met under this program, the bonds you have built with them, and the experience of overcoming differences in cultures and values and forming a consensus in discussions will be invaluable assets for you in the future, as you will serve as successful leaders of your respective countries and regions.

I heard that you will start visiting local regions in eight groups tomorrow. Each region boasts its distinct culture and beautiful scenery. I do hope that you will see, hear, and feel various aspects of Japan from your points of view.

I would like to conclude my remarks by expressing my high expectations that, as future leaders of Japan and the world, you will take advantage of your participation in this program and play a significant role in working as a bridge between your respective countries.

I sincerely wish that you will have wonderful memories. Thank you very much for coming all the way here today.”
