Visit to Viet Nam

On April 30, 2022 (local time), Prime Minister Kishida visited Hanoi in the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

On the next day, May 1 (local time), Prime Minister Kishida visited the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and attended a welcome ceremony, followed by a prime ministerial exchange with H.E. Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. Following the summit meeting, the two leaders held an exchange of documents ceremony and a joint press announcement. The leaders then attended a seminar on Japan-Viet Nam cooperation in technological innovation, digital transformation (DX), and supply chain diversification.

In the afternoon, Prime Minister Kishida held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. Afterwards, the Prime Minister spoke to the press regarding the Japan-Viet Nam Summit Meeting and other matters, followed by a meeting with H.E. Dr. Vuong Dinh Hue, Chairman of National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, and H.E. Dr. Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, respectively.
