Press Conference by the Prime Minister regarding His State of Mind One Month since the Inauguration of the Kishida Cabinet and Other Matters
November 4, 2021
[Provisional Translation]
I have been working on a series of efforts with a sense of urgency: the LDP presidential election, the formation of a Cabinet and the snap general election. I believe that the next step is policy implementation. Now that we have gained the trust of the people through the general election, I would like to apply that sense of urgency to the implementation of our policies.
One thing I would like to add is that if approved by the LDP General Council later today, Mr. Motegi will be leaving his post as Minister for Foreign Affairs to be appointed secretary-general of the party. If this happens, I would like to serve concurrently as Minister for Foreign Affairs until the formation of my next Cabinet. Thank you.
