Opening Statement by Chief Cabinet Secretary Suga

H.E. Professor Alpha Condé, President of the Republic of Guinea will make an official visit to Japan from June 19 to June 22, 2017. President Condé is the Chairperson of the African Union in 2017. During his stay in Japan, the President will hold a meeting with Prime Minister Abe on June 20 and will participate in a Japan-Guinea business forum, which will be hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Guinea to Japan and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), and deliver a keynote address. President Condé will also make a state call on His Majesty the Emperor of Japan. President Condé will be the first ever President of Guinea to make an official visit to Japan. The Government of Japan hopes that this visit will further strengthen the friendly relations between Japan and Guinea, and strengthen cooperative relations between our two countries in international fora.
