Opening Statement by Chief Cabinet Secretary Fujimura

CHIEF CABINET SECRETARY FUJIMURA: A Minister of State post has been reassigned. While Minister Masaharu Nakagawa had been asked to assume the post of the Minister of State for Measures for Declining Birthrate, in order to facilitate the smooth deliberations on the bills related to the comprehensive reform of social security and taxation systems, Minister Yoko Komiyama has been assigned to this post effective today. She is asked to take charge of the measures for the declining birthrate, including Diet activities for the three bills related to the new system for children and child-rearing. As for Minister Nakagawa, as the Minister for Civil Service Reform - the position he was asked to fill recently, he will make every effort to swiftly enact the bills relating to the reform of the national civil servant system, and continue to be in charge of disaster management, the "New Public Commons," gender equality, among other issues, as the respective Minister of State.
