[Provisional Translation]
Q&As
(Abridged)
REPORTER: There are reports that arrangements are being made to start the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) preliminary consultations between Japan and the United States (U.S.) next week, February 7 or 8, in Washington, DC. Can you discuss the current status of the arrangements being made?
CHIEF CABINET SECRETARY FUJIMURA: Currently, arrangements are being made with the U.S. to be able to hold consultations with them at an early date, bearing in mind the process within the U.S. At this point in time, there is no such fact that a decision has been made on the schedule of the consultations.
REPORTER: Is there a possibility that they will take place sometime during next week?
CHIEF CABINET SECRETARY FUJIMURA: As I said, the schedule of the consultations has not been decided. Arrangements are, however, now being made to be able to hold the consultations at an early date.
