Opening Statement by Deputy Chief Cabinet Secretary Saito

DEPUTY CHIEF CABINET SECRETARY SAITO: I would like to give an overview of the Cabinet meeting. The meeting approved six general and other measures and draft bills, cabinet orders, and personnel decisions. With regard to statements by ministers, the Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications made a statement concerning the consumer price index.

In ministerial discussions following the Cabinet meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Katsuya Okada made a statement concerning the minutes of the meetings of the councils which were established in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake, and Minister Goshi Hosono made a statement concerning his visit to the United States and France, respectively.
