The Government of Japan has decided to revise the coverage of the "Procedures to Introduce Supercomputers" (the decision of the 29th meeting of the Committee for Drawing Up and Promoting the Action Program on 26 April 1999 (final revision)) partially, as outlined herein.



Partial Revision of the Procedures to Introduce Supercomputers

  1. The theoretical peak ratings threshold of "50 billion floating point operations per second (GIGAFLOPS) and over" is to be raised to "100 billion floating point operations per second (GIGAFLOPS) and over."

  2. The revisions will become effective on 1 May 2000.
