Basic Policy of the Kishida Cabinet
June 7, 2022
In June, 2022, the Basic Policy on Economic and Fiscal Management and Reform 2022 (“Basic Policy”) and the Grand Design and Action Plan for a New Form of Capitalism were approved.

“In the Basic Policy of this year, we have put forth an overall picture of the Kishida Cabinet's economic and fiscal policies that aim to realize a virtuous cycle of growth and distribution through planned and focused investment and regulatory and institutional reforms toward the realization of a new form of capitalism, while achieving economic recovery through flexible and agile macroeconomic management.”

“Regarding the Grand Design and Action Plan for a New Form of Capitalism, we will work on social issues involving a significant externality that cannot be solved by the market, with a view to transforming them into new sources for growth. We will formulate by the end of this year and implement concrete multi-year plans for start-ups, green transformation and measures to double asset income.”
