| On the afternoon of 27 December 2000, Prime Minister Mori visited the Musashi Koyama shopping area (Palm) in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo. While the enthusiastic citizens thronged to him, the Prime Minister, with his careful eyes on the trends of household consumption, made his way through the bustling street, chatting with shopkeepers and shaking hands with end-of-the-year shoppers.
