The United Nations and U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan were jointly awarded this year's Nobel Peace Prize. I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to both this great organization and distinguished leader on receiving this award.

I had the occasion to meet with Secretary-General Annan in New York myself last month, and I was strongly impressed by his devoted efforts to world peace and security.
