On October 31, 2026, Prime Minister Takaichi attended the Memorial Service for Police Officers Who Lost Their Lives on Duty and for Citizens Who Lost Their Lives Assisting with Police Duties, held in Tokyo.
The Prime Minister offered a silent prayer and delivered a memorial address, followed by the offering of a flower.
In her memorial address, the Prime Minister said as follows:

The six individuals newly enshrined on this occasion include police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty while protecting public safety in Japan, and those who devoted themselves to saving lives without regard for their own safety.
I express my heartfelt respect and gratitude for the noble spirit and unwavering courage that you demonstrated through your actions, and once again offer my deepest condolences.
When I think of the profound grief of the bereaved families who have lost their loved ones, my heart is filled with sorrow.
I extend my heartfelt condolences to all the bereaved families.
As we reflect upon the precious sacrifices of the 6,292 souls enshrined here to date, we will engrave upon our hearts:
- A strong sense of pride in and commitment to duty;
