Ceremony Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Nationwide Organizations of the Youth and Women's Leagues of Societies of Commerce and Industry

[Provisional translation]

On October 27, 2026, Prime Minister Takaichi attended a ceremony commemorating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the nationwide organizations of the Youth and Women's Leagues of Societies of Commerce and Industry, held in Tokyo.
The Prime Minister said in her congratulatory address as follows:
(Prime Minister Takaichi)
Good morning, everyone. I am TAKAICHI Sanae, Prime Minister of Japan.
I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations on the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the nationwide organizations of the Youth and Women's Leagues of Societies of Commerce and Industry.
The Youth and Women's Leagues of Societies of Commerce and Industry have served as forums for young and female business owners in local communities to support and learn from one another, making significant contributions to the development of regional economies.
They have also played important roles in recovery and reconstruction efforts following repeated natural disasters.
I would like to express my heartfelt respect for your many years of dedicated efforts.
Today, countries around the world are competing to implement large-scale, long-term industrial policies through concerted national efforts. If Japan alone remains at a standstill, businesses, jobs, and investment could flow overseas, potentially plunging our economy back into an era of stagnation.
Through responsible and proactive public finances, the Takaichi Cabinet will encourage domestic investment, raise Japan's potential growth rate, and achieve a virtuous cycle under expanding GDP, in which:
- Quality employment opportunities and incomes increase;
- Consumer confidence improves;
- Business earnings rise; and
- Tax revenues consequently increase naturally.
Furthermore, under the Strategy for the Future of Regions, the Takaichi Cabinet will support the formation of industrial clusters that capitalize on the distinctive strengths of each region, enabling industrial clusters to flourish in every corner of Japan.
I am delighted that you will be working together with us toward this goal.
In particular, we have a Local Industry Growth Plans that makes use of regional resources. Under this initiative, you can share your ideas with municipal mayors, and local governments, particularly municipalities, will take the lead in developing new industrial clusters.
It is you, the local business operators, who create new value in your communities.
We will continue to support the members of the Youth and Women's Leagues as you take on new challenges and pursue initiatives that vigorously promote the development of regional economies.
In closing, I wish everyone gathered here continued success and the Youth and Women's Leagues further growth and development.
My heartfelt congratulations to you all on this special occasion.
