On July 29, 2026, Prime Minister TAKAICHI attended a meeting of the Ministerial Council on the Monthly Economic Report and Other Relative Issues at the Prime Minister's Office.
Regarding the assessment of the current state of the Japanese economy, the July Monthly Economic Report states, "The economy is recovering at a moderate pace, although close attention should be given to the impact of the situation in the Middle East."
With regard to the outlook, the Report states, "The economy is expected to continue recovering at a moderate pace, supported by improvements in the employment and income situation and the effects of various government policies, although close attention should continue to be given to the impact of the situation in the Middle East. Attention should also be given to the impact of fluctuations in financial and capital markets."
