Opening Statement by Chief Cabinet Secretary Suga
 
H.E. Ms. Michelle Bachelet Jeria, President of Chile, will pay an official working visit to Japan from February 22 to 26. During her stay in Japan, the President will make a state call on His Majesty the Emperor of Japan. Prime Minister Abe will also hold a meeting with the President and host a dinner in her honor. Japan and Chile share fundamental values and have forged friendly and cooperative relations in a period of 120 years as partners on either side of the Pacific Ocean. By inviting the President to Japan, the Government seeks to further deepen the friendly and goodwill relationship of our two countries.
