REPORTER: In the discussions held today by the ruling parties about national security legislation, I believe the general law caused considerable debate. I would like to ask the Government’s take on the significance of the passage of the general law.

CHIEF CABINET SECRETARY SUGA: I can confirm that today, the ruling coalition held discussions on the development of security legislation. I think it is important that ruling parties continue to debate issues regarding the development of a security legislation which enables a seamless response under any circumstances. At any rate, I will receive a report on the details of today’s discussions at the committee meeting following this press conference, so at this time that is all I have been made aware of.
