Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda held the third meeting of the Reconstruction Promotion Council at the Prime Minister's Office.

At this meeting, opinions were exchanged on the FY 2012 Mid-Term Report by the Reconstruction Promotion Committee and the Issues for Reconstruction.

The Prime Minister said in his opening address,

"There had been enthusiastic discussion based on elaborate on-site surveys regarding the mid-term report by the Reconstruction Promotion Committee. I would like to give thanks for the appropriate opinions given.
Although I have been working with top priority on the reconstruction from the Great East Japan Earthquake, I recognize that there are many parts in which I am still incompetent. I would like to further step up my efforts from now on.
The government is determined to share the same awareness regarding the six items that are pointed out by the committee as prioritized issues, and consider responsive measures.
With the Minister for Reconstruction acting as a control tower, I would also like to ask the relevant ministers to actively work on the issue.
I would like to once again ask Dr. Makoto Iokibe, chairman of the committee, and other members to implement surveys and discussions in a lively manner."
