Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda attended the Asahi World Environmental Forum 2012 held at a hotel in Tokyo.

The Prime Minister said in his opening address,

"The path we must take is clear; it is to stand at the forefront of the green energy revolution and to lead the world. In order to do so, it is necessary to boldly carry forth the two pillars, namely 'the realization of a thorough energy-conservation society,' and 'the increased introduction of renewable energy.'"
"To achieve the green energy revolution starting from Japan is the determined national strategy. It is important work that each and every person who will live in the future from now on should take up. It is also a part of the international contribution for opening up the future of mankind. We will present such mindset of this country to the international community."
