Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda visited Okayama and Hiroshima Prefectures and observed companies that will be innovation forerunners in the healthcare area and energy and environment area, which are prioritized areas in the Strategy for Rebirth of Japan.

Arriving at Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture, the Prime Minister visited a company producing medical equipment utilizing the skills of crafting (monodzukuri), and observed artificial joint products and the production lines thereof.
Later, the Prime Minister went to Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture. The Prime Minister visited a company producing light-emitting diode (LED) chips that serve as the core for highly energy-efficient light bulbs and TVs, and observed LED products and sapphire substrate processing technology.
