Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda held the second meeting of the Headquarters for Administrative Reform Implementation at the Diet building.

Discussion took place on the curbing of recruitment for FY2013, review of housing complexes for independent administrative agencies staff, and other matters.

The Prime Minister said in his opening address, "For promoting the comprehensive reform of social security and taxation systems, what should be done first of all is to tighten our own belts and implement political and administrative reforms, which are indispensable to obtaining the understanding and confidence of the people. We have therefore launched this Headquarters to robustly promote administrative reform.
Today, we will start discussion on specific items such as the curbing of recruitment of national public servants and the issue of housing complexes for independent administrative agencies. I believe that we need to reach a conclusion promptly and produce results that are immediately visible to the people.
I would like to ask for your cooperation so that each ministry will proactively engage in the reform under strong leadership of respective ministers."
