Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda attended the 10th meeting of the Investigation Committee on TEPCO's Management and Finances held at the Prime Minister's Office.

After receiving a report from the Committee, the Prime Minister said in his address, "With regard to the role of this Committee, I believe this report will be an extremely important basis for formulating a special business plan as stipulated in the Act to Establish Nuclear Damage Compensation Facilitation Corporation.
With this report as a starting point, we as the Government intend to strictly examine Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO)'s downsizing efforts toward the special business plan process going forward. At the same time, we would like to consider the electricity price scheme and structural and other issues.
The most important issues concerning TEPCO are above all the earliest possible conclusion of the incident, expedite payment of compensation to those affected by the incident, and maintenance of stable electric power supply. Although these are all difficult issues, we must address them simultaneously."
