Ministerial Meeting on Economic Measures Friday, December 19, 2003 The Ministerial Meeting on Economic Measures was held at the Prime Minister's Official Residence. "The Fiscal 2004 Economic Outlook and Basic Stance for Economic and Fiscal Management" were approved at the Ministerial Meeting and were also approved at the succeeding Cabinet meeting. "The Fiscal 2004 Economic Outlook and Basic Stance for Economic and Fiscal Management" incorporate a compilation of i) fiscal 2003 economic and fiscal management and the Japanese economy; ii) basic stance for economic and fiscal management in fiscal 2004; and iii) economic outlook for fiscal 2004. "The Fiscal 2004 Economic Outlook and Basic Stance" expect to have a real growth rate in Gross National Product (GNP) of approximately 1.8% and the nominal growth rate of approximately 0.5% for FY 2004 and read a mild recovery for FY 2004, mainly powered by demand in the private sector.
