Prime Minister Meets with the President of the Industrial Revitalization Corporation Tuesday, May 13, 2003 Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi welcomed Mr. Atsushi Saito, the president of the Industrial Revitalization Corporation, and Mr. Shinjiro Takagi, the chair of the Industrial Revitalization Committee, to a meeting at the Prime Minister's Official Residence. The Industrial Revitalization Corporation, which launched its services officially on May 8, aims for an integrated revitalization of finance and industry as it pursues its goals of purchasing loans from financial institutions and supporting corporate reconstruction. At the meeting, Mr. Saito expressed his enthusiasm, saying that he was "excited about industrial revitalization." In response, Prime Minister Koizumi encouraged him by saying, "The Industrial Revitalization Corporation will play a key role in industrial revitalization. I will ask the Financial Services Agency to help the Corporation to smoothly fulfill its functions, and hope for your continuing efforts for industrial revitalization."
