Prime Minister Naoto Kan held the 18th meeting of the Government Revitalization Unit at the Prime Minister's Office.

Discussion took place on the handling of the review of administrative programs (review of programs by each ministry and agency) in 2011, the status of the reforms of the special account system and independent administrative agencies, reforms of regulations and systems, and other matters.

The Prime Minister said in his opening address, "The efforts for government revitalization will become ever more important for effectively and efficiently advancing reconstruction from the earthquake disaster.
In addition to the review of administrative programs, which is also called the review of programs by each ministry and agency, I believe it is extremely important that we steadily advance the reforms of the special account system and independent administrative agencies, reforms of regulations and systems, and other reforms."
