Prime Minister Naoto Kan attended the plenary session of the House of Representatives.

During the session, the Resolution concerning the Great East Japan Earthquake, the Resolution to Thank the International Assistance in Response to the Great East Japan Earthquake, and the Resolution for the 150th Anniversary of the Establishment of Japan-Germany Relations were submitted and approved by the House.

The Prime Minister delivered an address following the approval of the Resolution concerning the Great East Japan Earthquake and the Resolution to Thank the International Assistance in Response to the Great East Japan Earthquake, saying "Up to date, removal of rubble, construction of temporary housing, and other measures that require urgency have been robustly advanced, and the transportation network has also recovered to a large extent. In order to step up the recovery further, we will be submitting a draft supplementary budget and related bills to the Diet in a short time.
The Government, in full acknowledgement of the purpose of the resolution, will continue exerting the fullest efforts to bring the incident at the nuclear power station to a close and will mobilize the entire Cabinet in our efforts to enhance disaster countermeasures in general and to proceed on with the recovery and reconstruction of disaster stricken regions."

Additionally, upon the approval of the Resolution for the 150th Anniversary of the Establishment of Japan-Germany Relations, the Prime Minister said, "The Government, in full acknowledgement of the purpose of the resolution approved now, will seek to develop even closer relations with Germany. At the same time, Japan will strengthen relations with European countries and exert the utmost efforts to realize the peace and stability of the world."
