Prime Minister Naoto Kan held the 15th meeting of the Headquarters for Emergency Disaster Response for the 2011 Tohoku - Pacific Ocean Earthquake and the 13th meeting of the Nuclear Emergency Response Headquarters at the Prime Minister's Office.

Since this day marks one month after the Great East Japan Earthquake, at 2:46 p.m. during the meeting, a silent prayer was offered to express condolences for the victims of the disaster again and to pray for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives to the disaster.
