At the Prime Minister's Office, Prime Minister Naoto Kan received a report on the situation of the terrestrial digital broadcasting on December 1, Digital Broadcasting Day, from Mr. Shigeo Fukuchi, President of NHK (Japan Broadcasting Corporation), Mr. Michisada Hirose, President of the National Association of Commercial Broadcasters in Japan (NAB), and Mr. Setsuhiro Shimomura, Chairman of the Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA).
