Prime Minister Naoto Kan held talks with Dr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of India, at the Prime Minister's Office.

After the meeting, the two leaders signed the Japan-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement and received a report from the Business Leaders' Forum (BLF), following which they held a joint press announcement.

Later, Prime Minister Kan held a banquet inviting Prime Minister Singh and Mrs. Gursharan Kaur, his wife, and others. Prime Minister Kan said in his address, "I am confident that the Japan-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement will further expand the trade and investment opportunities and exchanges between the two countries. Together with Prime Minister Singh, I promise to continue doing my best to strengthen our bilateral relations."
