Prime Minister Naoto Kan hosted an Iftar (fast-breaking meal during the Holy Ramadan Month) with the Islamic diplomatic corps in Japan at the Prime Minister's Office.

The Iftar hosted by the Prime Minister was held with a view to promoting mutual understanding between Japan and the Islamic world, and representatives of 41 countries and regions from the Islamic diplomatic corps in Japan attended.
