Prime Minister Naoto Kan visited an in-house nursery school in Tokyo shared by multiple companies, where he observed the facility and exchanged views with users and nursery staff.

After the observation, the Prime Minister said, "I came here to see and hear about this facility, where company employees have their children looked after while they are working. The presence of such a facility allows younger mothers to return to work six months or a year after giving birth, for instance, and at the same time have their children taken care of. I thought this facility is truly remarkable in that sense. Given the sparseness of such facilities in the local community, I thought a solution through corporate effort is also one form of solution that is much needed. The current administration has been focused on child-rearing support, including nursing support. Various items related to child-rearing are also included in the New Growth Strategy, which I would like to reflect into specific actions that would put them to practice."
