Prime Minister Naoto Kan visited Miyazaki Prefecture, which was facing an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease, an infectious disease which affects livestock.
After visiting livestock farmers in Miyazaki City, the Prime Minister met with Mr. Hideo Higashikokubaru, Governor of Miyazaki Prefecture, heads of relevant municipalities, and others. The Prime Minister then visited the local headquarters against foot-and-mouth disease.
