Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda convened the Ministerial Meeting on the Pension Record Problem at the Diet building.

At this meeting, progress reports were made on the name identification work for 50 million cases of unattributed pension records and on the sending of notifications conducted under the Pension Special Notification Service. The Ministers also discussed the measures taken in accordance with "The Responses to the Pension Record Problem," decided at the previous meeting, and other policies, as well as ways to enhance consultation services.

Prime Minister Fukuda said, "The Pension Special Notification Service is the pillar of the responses to the pension record problem. I expect thorough and sincere responses to be put into effect from the people's perspective, and I would like to see a reliable system made easily accessible to the people so that they can drop by for consultation as they need." The Prime Minister instructed the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare to clarify the working schedule after April in detail, so as to advance by all means the identification process of the records that will not have been attributed by the end of March. The Prime Minister also instructed the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications to reinforce the organization of the Third-Party Committee to Check Pension Records in order to further accelerate their deliberations.
