Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda held the first Ministerial Meeting on Pension Record Problems at the Diet building.

Prime Minister Fukuda said in his opening address, "Resolving the pension record problems is one of the Cabinet's most important tasks. The government must work to ensure that the pension records of each and every person be reviewed and that pension payments be correctly made as soon as possible, so that we can recover the people's lost trust. It is my hope that this meeting will serve to advance efforts to resolve the pension record problems, while maintaining the close coordination of the relevant ministers, and I ask for your further endeavors in this regard."

At the meeting, Mr. Yoichi Masuzoe, the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare, and Mr. Hiroya Masuda, the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, each gave explanations of responses to the pension record problems, their implementation status, and further measures to be taken, and requested the cooperation of the other ministers.
